TIH BUREAU, NEW DELHI: Thirty-two nations converge in New Delhi starting today as the Indian Army hosts a critical United Nations conclave focused on reforming and strengthening global peacekeeping missions against an array of increasingly complex and evolving threats.

The three-day United Nations Troop Contributing Countries’ (UNTCC) Chiefs’ Conclave brings together senior military leaders and heads of delegations from major peacekeeping nations to deliberate on critical operational challenges, including enhancing interoperability, improving inclusivity in decision-making, and assessing the role of technology and robust training programs. The event aims to foster a shared understanding of the requirements for future UN peacekeeping operations, ensuring personnel are better equipped for volatile environments.

The Conclave underscores India’s pivotal role as one of the world’s largest and most experienced Troop Contributing Countries to the UN, leveraging its extensive experience to drive global dialogue on enhancing security and effectiveness for peacekeepers facing complex modern conflict zones. The event kicks off today with Defence Minister Rajnath Singh slated to address the inaugural session. Following his address, Chiefs and Heads of Delegations will present their viewpoints on immediate mission priorities, according to organizers. In addition to the strategic dialogues, the conclave will also feature defence exhibitions focused on shared capacity building, alongside scheduled bilaterals and cultural exchanges among the participating countries.
