The development push includes significant investments in urban infrastructure, sewage treatment, housing under PM Awas Yojana (PMAY Urban), energy storage, and railway modernization. The event saw high public enthusiasm, with thousands gathered to witness the Prime Minister’s address and announcements.

According to an Akashvani Correspondent, the PM gifted the state with several completed and new projects:

1. Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) Projects in Patna

The inauguration of STPs will ensure effective treatment of sewage water from Patna and surrounding areas before it enters the Ganga River, a major boost to the Clean and Pure Ganga Campaign. This is seen as a crucial step in preserving the environment and protecting public health.

2. Boost to Rail Infrastructure

New railway line from Deoria to Hajipur inaugurated to enhance connectivity from Purvanchal (Uttar Pradesh) to key districts of Bihar like Muzaffarpur, Bettiah, Narkatiaganj, and Vaishali.

New Vande Bharat Express train flagged off from Patna Patliputra Junction to Gorakhpur, providing high-speed rail services for local passengers and boosting regional tourism and trade.

3. Export of Locomotives from Marhowra to Guinea

In a significant move under Make in India, Make for the World, PM Modi flagged off the export of high-capacity locomotive engines manufactured at Marhowra Rail Factory (Saran district) to Guinea, a West African nation. This not only enhances India's global manufacturing presence but also revives the Marhowra industrial belt, once known for its sugar and confectionery exports.

4. Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Bihar

The PM laid the foundation for a 500 MWh Battery Energy Storage System to be installed across 15 grid substations in Bihar, including Muzaffarpur, Motihari, Bettiah, and Siwan. The battery capacity in each location will range between 20–80 MWh, supporting the state's green energy goals and grid reliability.

5. PM Awas Yojana Urban Milestone

PM Modi also released the first instalment to over 53,600 beneficiaries of PMAY Urban in Bihar. Additionally, he personally handed over house keys to a few beneficiaries, symbolizing the Grih Pravesh (housewarming) of over 6,600 newly built homes under the scheme.

Public Enthusiasm and Political Significance

The Prime Minister’s visit comes at a time when development, housing, clean energy, and infrastructure are major themes in both national and state-level politics. Local residents, particularly in Siwan and surrounding districts, have expressed strong enthusiasm, viewing the visit as a sign of the government’s continued commitment to Bihar’s economic transformation.
