History of earth day

Earth Day was established by US Senator Gaylord Nelson in 1970 as environmental education, after which the practice of celebrating Earth Day began. It is said that in America this day is known as Tree Day. At the same time, US Senator Gaylord Nelson is known as Father of Earth Day.

It is the largest public awareness movement in the world, in which billions of citizens from 192 countries together participate and pledge to conserve the Earth. On this day, there is spring in North Pole and Autumn in South Pole.

Why is earth day celebrated

The main purpose of celebrating this day is to make people aware about conservation of earth and environment. In the modern era, the way soil erosion is happening, the glaciers are melting, global warming is increasing and pollution is spreading, they are causing the Earth to evaporate.

To maintain the quality, fertility and importance of the Earth in such a situation, we need to protect the environment and the Earth. To fulfill these ambitious objectives, Earth Day is celebrated every year on 22 April.
