Zika Virus Cases Kerala: More Than 50 Cases With 3 New Infections Reported

On Monday, at least three people in Kerala tested positive for Zika virus infection, bringing the cumulative number of southern states to 51. Kerala Health Minister Vina George said that until Monday, five patients were being treated for the disease.

53, 30 and 21 people from the state capital of Thiruvananthapuram were tested at the virology laboratory of the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College on Monday and they tested positive for infection. The first case of Zika virus in the state was reported on July 8. 

We have now registered 51 confirmed cases of Zika virus infection. Currently, 5 people are receiving treatment, & PTI News Agency quoted a press release from the Minister of Health.

The Minister of Health said that the state has installed a control room that operates 24 hours a day for people to seek information and inquiries. One day ago, the week.
