Kashmir, INDIA | In the wake of the deadly terror attack in Pahalgam that claimed 26 lives, the Indian Army has delivered a strong response to five consecutive nights of unprovoked ceasefire violations by Pakistani forces along the Line of Control (LoC).
During the night of April 28-29, 2025, Pakistani troops initiated small arms fire targeting areas opposite Kupwara, Baramulla, and the Akhnoor sector. The Indian Army swiftly retaliated, stating that its response was "measured and effective" in countering the aggression.
This sustained cross-border firing by Pakistan follows the heightened tensions sparked by the Pahalgam terror attack, which predominantly affected tourists. The preceding four nights also witnessed similar ceasefire violations by Pakistani forces in areas including Poonch and Kupwara.
While no casualties were reported in those earlier incidents, the consistent pattern of breaches has prompted a firm response from the Indian military.
