Pakistan To Hand Over Gujarat Fisherman’s Body at Wagah Border Today

The mortal remains of Gujarat fisherman Ramesh, who passes away in a Karachi prison on March 26. Expected to be transferred to Indian authorities at the Wagah border in Punjab on Thursday. Following a 40-day period since his death.

After his demise, Ramesh’s body has been held at a morgue in Karachi. With the completion of an autopsy on Wednesday. Indian officials arrived in Karachi on Tuesday to finalize the repatriation formalities for Ramesh’s remains.

While sources indicate that Pakistan authorities are likely to hand over the fisherman’s mortal remains to India at the Wagah border on Thursday.

Officers from Gujarat’s fisheries department are preparing to receive Ramesh’s remains on Thursday. “Two of our officers will be traveling to Amritsar tomorrow to receive the body.

Once the Punjab government completes the necessary procedures and transfers the body to our officers. We will arrange for an appropriate air route to bring it back to Gujarat.” a senior official from the fisheries department mentioned.
