Israel-Palestine Conflict: After 9 Palestinians Got Killed, Israeli Army Launches Airstrikes on Gaza

The Israeli army announced on Friday that it was currently conducting strikes in the Gaza Strip.

The Agence France-Presse news agency was informed by security sources in Gaza that there had been 15 attacks. Before fighter jets struck, Israeli drones reportedly fired two missiles at targets in Gaza, resulting in four significant explosions, according to witnesses and local media.

There were no reports of casualties right away.

According to the Israeli army, the airstrikes on Gaza, which has 2.1 million inhabitants and is one of the world’s most densely populated territories, came after two rockets were fired at Israel at around midnight (22:00 GMT).

Southern Israel had heard air raid sirens both during the initial two rocket launches and again during the Israeli airstrikes.

Israel’s Channel 12 broadcast footage of Israeli interceptor missiles being launched into the night sky above the city of Ashkelon, which is roughly 12 kilometers (7 miles) north of Gaza. The Israeli army said that the rockets were intercepted by Israel’s air defense system.

Israeli forces conducted a raid on the Jenin refugee camp, killing nine people. This was followed by airstrikes and rocket fire from Israel. One of the worst days in the occupied West Bank since Israel increased raids at the start of 2021, according to reports, also left at least 20 people injured.

Israeli forces also shot a 22-year-old Palestinian male in the village of al-Ram, which is located north of Jerusalem.
