KALI: India’s Weapon To Destroy Any Uninvited Missiles And Aircrafts

India has developed a top-secret weapon called KALI that will respond to any unwanted missile aimed at disrupting India’s calm. Kilo Ampere Linear Injector is the abbreviation for KALI.

The weapon is configured in such a way that it can be used to soft-kill missiles and airplanes.

The Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) and the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre created it (BARC).

The project was primarily intended for industrial reasons, but its many capabilities contributed to its development into a lethal weapon.

Facts you should definitely know about the KALI:

  1. Dr. R. Chidambaram, then-Director of the Bhabha Atomic Research Centre (BARC), began the Kali project in 1985.
  2. Initially, the concept was intended for industrial purposes. Its potential as a defensive weapon was later suggested by the project’s creators.
  3. The KALI 80, KALI 200, KALI 1000, KALI 5000, and KALI 10000 series are referred to as ‘Single Shot Pulsed Gigawatt Electron Accelerators.’
  4. The single shot devices generate charge energy by the use of water-filled capacitors.
  5. According to reports, the project’s potential as a defence weapon has positioned it as a danger to China.
  6. The weapon’s beams are capable of destroying any satellite or unmanned aerial vehicle in a matter of seconds.
  7. The KALI’s capacity to create intense electron pulses and convert electron energy to electromagnetic radiation fueled hopes that it may be utilized in a High-Power Microwave cannon.
  8. Its X-Rays are utilized as an illuminator in ultrahigh-speed photography.
  9. Current electronic components employed in the research are capable of withstanding fields of around 300 volts per centimetre.
  10. REBs can be utilized to generate High Power Microwaves (HPMs) and Flash X Rays (FXR).
